WELCOME TO THE FALKIRK
CUP 2010!
Falkirk in
the Community is now launching their 2010 Falkirk Cup event, running
at Little Kerse, Grangemouth. It will be held from Friday 2nd April
until Monday 5th April. This is the events 3rd year running and is
going to be even bigger and better than ever. Last seasons event
attracted 96 teams from all over Scotland.
This year
the community team are aiming for a larger event and have adopted
some new ideas from the knowledge gained from previous events for a
better experience for players, coaches, parents and spectators alike.
Tom Elliot,
Head of Community Coaching, said:"We are looking forward to another
4 days of football and great sportsmanship and would like to thank
and welcome all our existing and new teams for taking part in the
Falkirk cup 2010. Also, we would like to extend this welcome to
Institute FC from Nothern Ireland who will be taking part in the
Under 15 and Under 16 age groups at the Falkirk Cup".
Falkirk FC would also like to say many thanks to the following
sponsors; ,Main sponsor RJM Sports, Cabrellis (Fish and Chip Bar
Linlithgow), Asda Distribution Centre and McDonalds who have supplied
medals, trophies, fair play trophies, fruit bags and orange bowls.
As well as participating in a minimum of five matches against other
competing teams; players can also take part in the Falkirk FC skills
challenge and Hot Shot (find who has the hardest shot at the event
open to players and parents) with prizes to be won for each challenge
on the hour, every hour during the Falkirk Cup. There will be many
other attractions and stalls at the event to keep your team occupied
when not in play
Cup
Format:
Under
9s festival (7 a side) - Friday 2nd April 2010
Under
10s to under 12s festival - (7 a side) - Saturday 3rd
April 2010
Under
9s to Under 12s will be competing in a non-competitive festival
format and will receive a medal of participation.
Under
13s to under 17s festival – Sunday 4th and Monday 5th
April 2010
Under
13s to Under 17s will be playing and competing in a league/section
format in a chance to win the Falkirk Cup on Monday afternoon. As
well as competing for the Falkirk Cup there is also chance to win the
Falkirk Cup Community Plate.

Falkirk Cup Event attracts teams from England, Ireland and from all
over Scotland to ensure local teams get a chance to join, the
community team have set up an Early bird registration which entitles
you to a 10% discount off registration fee for all region clubs.
